5-12-25   THOUGHTS

We come back to familiar passages because we need them in our hearts.  The reading this morning helps us see trials and difficulties as stepping stones to better character in ourselves.   God’s poured out LOVE is our reward and goal.  God gives us His Spirit!  We stand in grace and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.  The fact of proven character in us,  is most biblical.  We live in an eternal HOPE!  

Rom 5:1-5     Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2  through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God.  3  And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; 4  and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope;  5  and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

My Prayer:
Father God, help us to grow to maturity in You.  May proven character be ours as we serve You. We praise You, O God, we lift up Your wonderful name. Our hope’s desire and expectation is to  be with You eternally.  Thank You that Your Spirit dwells within us.  May Your poured out love be our ever-present motivation that drives the proving of ourselves.  We want to please You as good children.   In Jesus’ name,     Amen.
